    6/3 Harriette A. Simons (nee Tabak), born in Brooklyn August 29, 1919, died in Manhattan June 3, 2013. Daughter of David A. Tabak and Alice Kessler. Graduated Cornell 1940. Married Henry Noble Simons October 1942. Their daughter Victoria Alda was born August 9, 1944 and son Frederick Adam December 31, 1956. She lived in East Rockaway for 27 years, then 40 years in Manhattan, where Hank died in 1986. She worked most of her life, including years as a counselor and administrator in women’s health and abortion. A notable beauty, she was admired for her social grace, love of travel, strong support of women’s issues, and Jewish bonds. She took great pride in her family and their accomplishments. At her request, there are no services.

    6/25 Domenica Raucci died peacefully at home in New York City on June 25, one month before her  88th birthday. Born on July 26, 1925, in Gallo, Italy. Known to all as “Min.” She was truly a special lady—smart and vivacious, quick-witted, and a wonderful grandmother. She was loved by all. Min is survived by her husband Pete, sister Anna Ronga, sons Robert and Richard, and grandchildren Tarek, Omar, Faris, Keith and Jaime.

    7/9 Susan B. Vogelstein (nee Wolff), 90, died on July 9. Beloved wife of the late Henry, sister of Paul (Marion) and the late Eva (Al, deceased), daughter of the late Charles and Erika nee Abeles, mother of David (Vivian) and Steven (Barbara), grandmother of Eric, Sarah, Lauren, and Marissa, aunt of Lynn (John), Karen (Kent), Charles (Lily), Linda (Karma), Ronnie (Kathy), and Janet (Kerry), great aunt of Nathaniel, Leo, Talia, Elijah, Rami, Mila, Shey, Molly, Jake, Aaron, and Lisa, loyal friend, devoted librarian and Kindertransport survivor. Graveside service to be held at Sharon Gardens Cemetery, Valhalla, N.Y. Friday July 12 at 10:30am. Shiva at Vogelstein residence Friday following service and Sunday 1-5pm.

    7/29 Dotty Schoenfeld passed away at home on July 29, 2013 at age 98. She was the beloved wife of the late Fred Schoenfeld. Like many of her generation she eventually journeyed to New York after fleeing Europe. She is survived by her son, Peter and daughter-in-law, Charlotte. She was adored by her granddaughters, Caroline Greenwald and Jaclyn Boulan and rejoiced in the presence of her great-grandchildren, Vanessa and Charlie Greenwald and Daniel and Madeline Boulan. Funeral service will be private.
